In partnership with AT&T, owners of Chevrolet vehicles with an in-vehicle OnStar 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot can avail of an unlimited prepaid data plan for only $20 per month, starting Friday, March 3.According to Chevrolet, drivers of its vehicles used more than 4 million gigabytes of data in 2016, which was twice as much as the previous year. To put this data usage in perspective, Chevrolet owners and their passengers streamed the equivalent of more than 17.5 million hours of video in 2016.Since June 2014, Chevrolet has sold more than 3.1 million OnStar 4G LTE-connected vehicles, meaning it has more LTE-connected cars on the road than any other carmaker.said Chris Penrose, president, IoT Solutions, AT&T.For more information, see OnStar.com

as informed in Chevrolet has roared out of the garage to become the first vehicle brand to offer an unlimited data plan, parking itself firmly on territory once monopolised by big telecoms firms. The unlimited 4F LTE plan will offer data hungry drivers access to all the megabytes they can eat from inside the confines of their vehicle for $20 per month. Included in this fee is access to a prepaid OnStar 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, enabled by AT&T, to enable unlimited data out on the open road. US carriers belatedly began rolling out their own unlimited subscription services with Chevrolets competitors now in all likelihood readying their own plans in riposte. Chevrolets move has been prompted by jump in in-car wi-fi usage last year with customers guzzling 4m gigabytes of data, a 200 per cent increase on the equivalent figure from 2015, as drivers and passengers consume ever more music, movies and maps.

TOnStars new unlimited data plans will be available across Chevys full retail line up beginning tomorrow, March 3.
